HPLC Determination of Neohesperidin in Citrus Peels

Abstract
HPLC was applied to the determination of neohesperidin in citrus peels. The Sample was ultrasonically extracted with methanol, and made up to 50 mL. SinoChrom ODS-BP (250 mm×4.6 mm, 10 μm) column was used as stationary phase, a mixture of methanol and water mixed in the ratio of 36 to 64 (by volume) was used as mobile phase; UV-detection at 283 nm was used in the determination. Linear relationship between values of peak area and mass concentration of neohesperidin was obtained in the range of 0.005 3-0.32 g·L-1, with limit of detection (3S/N) of 0.6 mg·L-1. Values of average recovery and RSD (n=6) found were 90.3% and 1.7% respectively.
