    GC-MS Study on Release Behavior of Volatile Compounds in Foamed Plastics at Environmental Temperatures

    • Release behavior of the volatile compounds in foamed plastics at different temperatures was studied by GC-MS in hyphenation.It was found that about 20 compounds were released from the foamed plastics at definite temperatures,most of which were toxic and harmful compounds.Significant effect of temperature on the release behavior of the volatile compounds,especially above 60 ℃,was observed.Amounts of volatile compound released were increased slowly with the increase of time of keeping of the plastics and equilibrium was reached at a definite temperature.Environmental temperature was found to be the principle factor affecting the amount of volatile compounds released.
