    XRFS Determination of Major and Minor Elements in Direct Reduction-Iron with Sample Preparation by Fusion

    • Major and minor elements in direct reduction iron were determined by XRFS with sample preparation by fusion. The sample was fused at 1 050 ℃ for 20 min using Li2B4O7 and LiBO2 as flux in a Pt-Au crucible. The melt was poured into a Pt-Au mould, and the disc sample taken from the mould was used for XRFS analysis. Calibration curve was prepared with 25 CRM′s including the iron ore CRM (GBW 07221). The matrix effect was corrected by the fixed theoretical α influential coefficient method. The proposed method was used in analyzing of a substantial sample, giving results in consistency with the values obtained by other methods. Values of RSD′s (n=10) found for the 10 elements were in the range of 0.31%-16%.
