Abstract
HPLC was applied to the determinations of baicalin in cosmetics. The sample was extracted with alcohol-H2O (75+25) mixture. The solution was separated on ZORBAX SB C18 column (4.6 mm×25 cm, 5 μm) with mixture of acetonitrile and 0.1% (by vol.) phosphoric acid solution mixed in the radio of (22+78), as mobile phase and its content determined at the wavelength of 276 nm. Linear relationship between the peak area and the mass concentration of baicalin was kept in the range within 100.0mg·L-1, with detection limit(3S/N)of 4.5 mg·kg-1. The proposed method was used in the determination of baicalin in cosmetics, and values of recovery found by standard addition method were in the range of 76.8%-104.9%.
