RP-HPLC Determination of Urea in Water of Swimming-Pool

    • RP-HPLC was applied to the determination of urea in water of swimming-pool. The sample was separated with using Waters Atlantis T3 (250 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm) as stationary phase and pure water as mobile phase, and the content of urea was determined by diode array detector at the wavelength 195 nm. Linear relationship between values of peak area and mass concentration of urea was kept in the range of 0.5-100 mg·L-1, with detection limit (3S/N) of 0.2 mg·L-1. Tests for recovery and precision were made by standard addition method, giving values of recovery in the range of 94.1%-97.5% and RSD′s (n=6) of 0.64%.
