    SPE-RHPLC Determination of Polyhexamethylenebiguanide in Lens Cleaning-Disinfectant Solution

    • SPE-RHPLC was applied to the determination of polyhexamethylenebiguanide (PHMBG) in lens cleaning-disinfectant solution.PHMBG was enriched on the Spe-ed WCX solid phase extraction column and separated on the shiseido C18 column.A mixed solution of acetonitrile and 20 mmol·L-1 ammonium acetate (mixed at a ratio of 16 to 84) at pH 4.0 was used as mobile phase.UV-detection at 235 nm was adopted in the determination.Linear relationship between values of peak area and concentration of PHMBG was obtained in the range of 100-800 mg·L-1,and detection limit (S/N=3) of the method was found to be 0.046 mg·L-1.Tests for recovery and precision were performed and results of recovery in the range from 93.5% to 110.9% and value of RSD′s (n=7) of 3.3% were obtained.Whole process of a determination was completed within 7 min.
