Fluorospectrophotometric Determination of Fluorescent Whitening Agent VBL in Paper

Fluorospectrophotometry was applied to the determination of fluorescent whitening agent VBL in paper. The sample was desorbed in water of pH 8,then extracted for 120 s with microwave assistant. Linear relationship between values of fluorescence intensity and mass concentration of VBL was kept in the range within 2.00 mg·L-1,with detection limit (3s/k) of 0.001 mg·L-1. On the base of worksheet sample of student,test for recovery was made by standard addition method,with values of recovery found in the range of 84.7%-94.9%. Precision of the method was tested with paper sample for 5 determination,value of RSD found was 3.4%.
