    Thermal Desorption-GC-MS Determination of Volatile Organic Compounds in Air

    • GC-MS with thermal desorption was applied to the determination of 54 volatile organic compounds (VOC′s) in air. The analyte were separated on HP-INNOWAX capillary column, and detected by EI ionization source with whole scanning monitoring mode for qualitative analysis and selected ion monitoring mode for quantitative analysis. Detection limits of the method found were ranged from 0.11 to 0.28 μg·m-3. Values of recovery found were in the range of 85%-107% with RSD′s (n=7) less than 15%.
