    IC Determination of Anions in Rural Drinking Water

    • Contents of 6 anions, including F-, Cl-, NO2-, Br-, NO3- and SO42-, in rural drinking water were determined by ion chromatography. Ion Pac AG19 protective column and Ion Pac AS19 separation column were used for separation and 20.00 mmol·L-1 KOH solution was used as eluant. Inhibitory conductivity detection was adopted in the determination. Linearity for F-, NO2- and Br- was found to be in the same ranges within 4 mg·L-1, and linearity for Cl-, NO3- and SO42- was found in the same range within 40 mg·L-1, with detection limit (2S/N) in the range of 0.002-0.012 mg·L-1. The proposed method was applied to the determination of the 6 anions in rural drinking water, values of recovery found by standard addition method were in the range of 98.0%-101.3%, and RSD′s (n=6) were found in the range of 0.83%-2.7%.
