    HG-ICP-AES Determination of As, Sb and Bi in Ductile Iron

    • HG-ICP-AES was applied to the determination of As, Sb and Bi in ductile iron. The sample was dissolved in HCl (1+1) solution and H2O2 . Hydrides of As, Sb and Bi were generated by reacting with 10 g·L-1 KBH4 solution (dissolved in 4 g·L-1 NaOH solution). Analytical spectral lines of 193.696, 206.838 and 223.061 nm were chosen for the determination of As, Sb and Bi respectively. Linear relationships between values of emission intensity and mass concentration of As, Sb and Bi were kept in the same range within 1.6 mg·L-1, with their detection limits (3S/N) of 0.39, 0.37 and 0.77 μg·L-1 respectively. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of 4 standard samples of ductile iron, giving results in consistency with the certified values. Values of recovery obtained by standard addition method were found in the range of 94.0%-105% with RSD′s (n=6) in the range of 0.34%-2.6%.
