Abstract
PTA 3000 purge and trap concentrator was used in GC-MS determination of 28 volatile organic compounds (VOC′s) in surface sediments of coastal zone. Temperature and time for purging and trapping were set at 40 ℃ and 11 min respectively. The sample was transferred from the purge and trap bottle and introduced into the instrument for GC-MS analysis. The VOC′s were separated on J&W DB5-MS capillary column and detected by the modes of electron ionization and full-scanning. Internal standard was adopted in the determination. Values of detection limits of the method found were in the range of 0.16-0.38 μg·kg-1. Test for recovery were made by addition of standard VOC′s to sample matrixes; values of recovery obtained were in the range of 70.7%-115.5%. Values of RSD′s (n=7) found for the VOC′s were in the range of 1.7%-7.8%.
