Determination of 7 Elements in Stainless Steel Sheets by Direct-Reading Opto-electro-spectrometry

Abstract
Contents of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr and Ni in samples of stainless steel sheets with thickness between 0.2 to 1.2 mm, were determined by direct-reading opto-electro-spectrometry. Flow-rate of argon used in the determination was taken at 600 L·h-1 and the steel samples were polished with 80# coated abrasive. Under the optimized experimental conditions, values of RSD′s (n=10) of data of the 7 elements were found less than 10%. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of substantial samples, and the results obtained were in conformity with those by chemical method.
