XRFS Determination of Major and Minor Elements in Vanadium Titano-Magnetite

    • XRFS was applied to the determination of 8 major and minor elements, i.e. Fe, Ti, Si, Al, Mn, V, Ca and Mg in vanadium titano-magnetite. The sample was fused using Li2B4O7, LiBO2 and LiF (mixing ratio: 4.5 to 1 to 0.4) as flux. The melt demoulded was used for XRFS analysis. Calibration curve was prepared with 6 CRM′s of GBW0 7224, GBW 07225, GBW 07227, YSBC 19701-76, GSB 03-2584-2010 and YSBC 19722-2011 as well as SiO2, CaO, Al2O3, V2O5 and TiO2 of spectroscopical pure. The mathematical models of matrix correction of the 8 elements were optimized. Detection limits of the 11 elements were found in the range of 3.79-39.06 mg·kg-1. Values of RSD′s (n=10)were found to be in the range of 0.83%-2.9% in the analysis of CRM (GBW 07225) of vanadium titano-magnetite. The proposed method was used in analyzing 2 CRM′s (GBW 07225 and GBW 07227) of vanadium titano-magnetite, giving results in consistency with the certified values.
