Abstract
A complex was formed by the reaction between Pb(Ⅱ) and furoylpyrazolone 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-(α-furoyl)-pyrazolone-5,abbreviated as HPMαFP,in an acetate buffer medium of pH 4.0.A sensitive polarographic wave was observed at -0.46 V (vs.SCE).A linear relationship between the peak height (ip) and the concentration of Pb(Ⅱ) ion was obtained in the range of 0.10 to 10.0 mg per L-1 of solution.Based on the results of the electrochemical study, the polarographic wave at -0.46 V was proved to be an adsorptive wave of the lead(Ⅱ)-HPMαFP complex, and the peak current was produced by the reduction of Pb(Ⅱ)-ion.The mole-ratio of the complex (Pb∶R) was studied and found to be 1∶2,and its apparent stability constant was found to be 4.97×106.
