    ICP-MS Determination of 34 Trace Elements in Marine Sediments

    • A method of ICP-MS for the determination of 34 trace elements in marine sediments was proposed. Samples were digested with HF and HNO3 in a closed PTFE crucible. The spectral interferences were corrected by using spectral interference equations, and interferences of the matrix elements were eliminated by addition of internal standard. Values of detection limits (3s/k) found for the 34 elements were in the range of 0.046-160 ng·g-1. Accuracy and precision of the proposed method were tested by analyzing 4 CRM′s of marine sediments, giving results in consistency with the certified values and values of RSD′s less than 10%.
