Abstract
HPLC was applied to the determination of glycine, iminodiacetic acid, nitrilotriacetic acid, monochloroacetic acid and chloride ion in the ammonolytic solution of monochloroacetic acid, with external standard method and UV-detection at the wavelength of 195 nm.The Hypersil SAX column was used as the stationary phase, and 0.05 mol·L-1 KH2PO4 solution (pH 2.5) was used as the mobile phase.Linear relationships between values of peak area and mass concentration of the 5 components mentioned above were obtained in nearly the same range of 0.500 0 to 20.000 0 g·L-1,with values of detection limit (3S/N) in the range of 0.10 to 0.52 mg·L-1.Recovery and precision of the method for the 5 components were tested at 3 concentration levels (4.000 0,1.000 0,12.000 0 g·L-1) for 5 determinations, results of recovery and RSD′ (n=5) found were in the ranges of 95.7%-108.7% and 0.53%-1.73% respectively. The proposed method has been applied as a control test in the synthesis of iminodiacetic acid by ammonolysis of monochloroacetic acid.
