Abstract
Gas chromatography in hyphenation with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was applied to the determination of β-phenylethanol and diethyl esters of three dicarboxylic acids, namely diethyl heptanedioate, diethyl octanedioate and diethyl nonanedioate,in “Chi”-flavoured white spirit. In the GC-MS analysis,2-ethyl-butanoic acid was used as internal standard, and full scanning method was used for determination of β-phenylethanol and selective ion monitoring mode was used for determination of diethylesters at difinite retention time. Detection limit (S/N=3) of the method were found to be 5.0 mg·L-1 for β-phenylethanol,and 0.01 mg·L-1 for all the 3 diethyl esters. Values of recovery obtained were in the range of 90%-110%,and values of RSD′s (n=10) were less than 9%.
