Abstract
In a B-R buffer solution of pH 3.0,a significant reduction peak of aniline blue with its potential at -0.355 V was observed at the static mercury electrode.Upon the addition of an appropriate amount of kanamycin to this reaction system, the peak current (Ip) at -0.355 V was decreased due to the reaction of aniline blue with kanamycin forming an ion-association complex. The magnitude of decrease in peak current (ΔIp) at -0.355 V was found to keep linear relationship with the concentration of kanamycin in the range from 5.0 to 65.0 mg·L-1,corresponding to the linear regression equation of ΔIp=-1.028+0.567 C with its correlation coefficient of 0.998.Detection limit (3S/N) found was 1.0 mg·L-1.The proposed method was used to determine content of kanamycin in samples of kanamycin injections, giving results in consistency with the results obtained by spectrophotometry.
