    GFAAS Determination of Heavy Metals in Shellfishes with Microwave Assisted Sample Digestion

    • A method of GFAAS for the determination of 6 heavy metals, i.e., Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb, Ni and Zn, in shellfishes was proposed. The sample was treated by microwave digestion. Under the optimized conditions of digestion and instrument, linear relationships between values of absorbance and mass concentration of the 6 elements were kept in the same range within 10 mg·L-1, and values of detection limit (3S/N) found were in the range of 0.005-0.011 mg·L-1. The proposed method was used in the analysis of sample of shellfish, and values of recovery obtained by standard addition method were in the range of 93.8%-108% with RSD′s (n=7) in the range of 0.84%-4.2%.
