Abstract
In a phosphate buffer solution of pH 8.6, the fluorescence intensity of pyrrole-red was enhanced by its reaction with definite amount of sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS). But when microamount of acetaminophenol was added to this reaction system, significant decrease in fluorescence intensity was observed as measured at the wavelengths of 538 nm (λex) and 558 nm (λem). Linear relationship between the magnitude in decrease of fluorescence intensity and mass concentration of acetaminophenol was obtained in the range of 0.048-1.44 mg·L-1 with detection limit (3S/N) of 0.048 mg·L-1. The proposed method was applied to the determination of acetaminophenol in “Yinqiao” tablets, giving values of recovery in the range of 103.8%-105.4% and RSD′s (n=5) in the range of 1.8%-4.2%.
