    Determination of Primary and Minor Elements in Manganese Ore by X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry

    • X-ray fluorescence spectrometry was applied to the determination of eleven components,i.e.,Mn,Fe,Si,Ca present as major elements and Mg,Al,P,S,Ti,K,Na present as trace elements,in manganese ore.The sample was fluxed with a mixture of lithium tetraborate and lithium carbonate and ammonium iodide was added as demoulding agent.Seventeen standard samples and six working standard samples were used in the preparation of calibration curves,and the matrix eftect was corrected by using the theoretical alpha coefficient.The precision of the present method was tested and values of RSD's for all the components determined were less than 4%.In the analysis of three standard samples for testing the accuracy of this method,all the results obtained were in consistency with the standard values.
