    ICP-AES Determination of Si, Mn, P, Cr, Ni, Cu, Mo, V and W in Tungsten Steel

    • ICP-AES was applied to the determination of Si, Mn, P, Cr, Ni, Cu, Mo, V and W in tungsten steel. The sample was dissolved with HCl, ammonium citrate and HNO3. The matrix effect was removed with matrix matching method. Analytical spectral lines of 288.158, 257.610, 177.495, 267.716, 213.604, 327.396, 204.598, 310.230 and 239.709 nm were chosen for the determination of Si, Mn, P, Cr, Ni, Cu, Mo, V and W respectively. Linear relationships between values of emission intensity and mass fraction of the 9 elements were kept in definite ranges, with detection limits (3s) in the range of 0.000 3%-0.004 8%. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of 2 standard samples, giving results in consistency with the certified values with RSD (n=5) in the range of 0.74%-2.1%. Values of recovery of the method were found in the range of 95.0%-107%.
