    GC-MS/MS Determination of Polychlorinated Biphenyls in Water

    • GC-MS/MS was applied to the determination of 19 polychlorinated biphenyls in water. The sample was extracted twice with n-hexane, which was concentrated to 1 mL by N2-blowing. Separated on HP-5MS column, and determined by MS/MS. Values of limit of detection found were in the range of 0.40-0.51 ng·L-1. Tests for recovery were made by addition of mixed standard of the 19 polychlorinated biphenyls to pure water as matrix. Values of recovery found were in the range of 74.0%-109%, with values of RSD′s (n=7) in the range of 6.0%-11%.
