Stability of Taurine and Its Determination in Medicinal Liquor

    • An aminoacid auto-analyzer (Model Hitachi L8800) was used in the determination of stability and content of taurine in medicinal liquor with 2 modifications in the analytical conditions: ① the time of gradient elution with eluant B2 was set for 6.0 min instead of 7.0 min;and ② the mode of sample introduction of the automatic sampler was changed to the mode of “cut”.In the testing, samples with taurine at 3 different concentration levels were prepared, and each sample was separated into 2 portions, one of which was kept at room temperature while the other portion kept at 4 ℃ in a refrigerator.Content of taurine in each portion of the samples were determined, firstly at the time right after preparation, and then determined successively after one month, two month and three month. As shown by the analytical results, taurine was kept quite stable in the liquor matrix.Precision of the method was tested on a sample for 5 determinations, the content of taurine found were 12.31 mg per 100 mL,and the value of RSD obtained were 0.74%.Values of recovery found were in the range from 97.3% to 105.5%.
