Abstract
Rapid determination of major and minor element in medium-alkali and non-alkali glass fibre was fulfilled by the wavelength dispersive-X-ray fluorescence spectrometry.Sample disc was prepared by pressing the powdered sample in a mould.Major and minor elements, including Si,Al,Ca,Mg,Fe,Ti,K,Na,As and F,were determined by the presented method rapidly and simultaneously.Six standard samples and 2 reference samples were used in the preparation of calibration curves, and the α-coefficient of the De Jongh mode theory was used to correct the inter-element absorption-enhancement effect and spectral overlapping effect of the glass matrix.Precision of this method was tested and RSD′s for all the 10 elements determined were in the range from 0.35% to 2.86%.The results obtained by this method were in consistency with the results given by chemical methods.
