    AFS Determination of Trace Amount of Zinc in Soil Sample

    • Sample of soil was digested with HNO3-HCl (3+1), HF and HClO4. Zinc in the sample solution was then determined by HG-AFS with KBH4 as reducing reagent in an acidic medium. Linear relationship between values of fluorescence intensity and mass concentration of zinc was kept in the range within 250 μg·L-1, with detection limit (3s) of 0.55 μg·L-1. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of soil samples, values of RSD′s (n=11) obtained were in the range of 3.4%-6.3%, and values of recovery found by standard addition method were in the range of 87.5%-102%.
