IC Determination of Sodium,Potassium,Calcium and Magnesium in Cigarette Paper

Contents of 4 cations including Na+,K+,Ca2+ and Mg2+,in cigarette papers were simultaneously determined by ion chromatography (IC).The sample of cigarette paper was extracted ultrasonically with HCl (1+99) solution,and the 4 cations in the extract were separated on Ionpac CS 16 (5 mm×250 mm,5 μm) ion chromatographic column with 0.03 mol· L-1 methanesulfonic acid solution as mobile phase.The above mentioned cations were separately within 30 min.Values of detection limit (3S/N) were below 0.029-0.115 mg·L-1.Test for recovery and precision were made,giving values of recovery ranged from 96.5%-103.4%,and RSD′s (n=7) ranged form 0.66%-1.21%.
