    GC-MS Determination of Bis(tributyltin)oxide in Woodwork

    • GC-MS method was applied to the determinations of bis(tributyltin)oxide (TBTO) in woodwork. The sample was extracted with methanol, the extract obtained was derived with NaB(Et)4. The product was used for GC-MS analysis. External standard calibration was adopted in the determination. Linear relationship between peak areas and mass concentrations of TBTO was obtained in the range of 0.1-40 mg·L-1. Detection limit (3S/N) of the method was 0.05 mg·kg-1. Tests for recovery and precision were made by standard addition method at 3 different concentration levels, values of recovery and RSD′s (n=6) found were in the ranges of 88.4%-90.4% and 2.0%-5.4%.
