    LC-MS/MS Determination of Phthalates in Plastic Food Packaging

    • LC-MS/MS was applied to determine three phthalates (DBP, BBP and DEHP) in plastic food packaging. The sample was extracted with hexane by ultrasonic. Hypersil Gold column was used as stationary phase and the mixture of methane and water was used as mobile phase. ESI+ and MRM were adopted in MS/MS. Linear relationship between the peak area and the mass concentration of phathalates in the range of 5.00-250 μg·L-1, with detection limits (3S/N) in the range of 0.1-0.2 μg·L-1. Recovery measured by standard addition method was in the range of 92.5%-101% with RSD′s (n=6) in the range of 4.6%-6.9%.
