GC Determination of Stenchy Sulfides in Polluted Air

Abstract
Gas chromatography with sample-pretreatment by solid-phase micro-extraction (SPME) and with pulse flame photometric detection was applied to the determination of 6 stenchy sulfides (hydrogen sulfide,carbon disulfide,methanethiol,1,2-ethanedithiol,dimethylthioether and carbonyl sulfide) in polluted air. Conditions of SPME and gas chromatography were studied and optimized. Correlation coefficients of the linear regression equations of these compounds were found in the range of 0.998 0 to 0.999 4,their detection limits in the range of 1.9-4.1 pg and their recoveries in the range 89%-102%. The proposed method has been applied to the analysis of 3 air sample,giving values of RSD in range from 1.3% to 3.1%.
