    ICP-AES Determination of Calcium Magnesium and Phosphorus in Chinese Traditional Medicinal Materials

    • ICP-AES was applied to the simultaneous determination of calcium,magnesium and phosphorus in three kinds of Chinese traditional medicinal materials (epimedium macranthum,eucommiaulmoides and cistanche salsa). Samples were treated by dry ashing method and the residues were taken up with nitric acid and used for AES determination. Wavelengths of 317.933,280.271 and 214.914 nm were selected as analytical spectral lines for the determination of Ca,Mg and P respectively. Detection limits of 10.0,1.6 and 140.0 mg·L-1 were found for the 3 elements respectively. Samples of 3 kinds of Chinese traditional materials were analyzed by the proposed method,giving values of RSD′s (n=7) less than 3%.
