Abstract
It was reported that paracetamol was determined by constant current coulometry in an electrolyte containing 0.5 mol·L-1 KBr,1 mol·L-1 KNO3,1 mol·L-1 HOAc mixed in the ratio of 1 to 1 to 1.A replacement reaction was taken place between the analyte, paracetamol, and the bromine liberated electrolytically.Sudden raising in amperometric current was taken as the end point of the titration and leading to shutting off of the instrument automatically.Content of paracetamol in sample was calculated by the Faraday′s law.Result obtained by the present method (79.1%,average of 11 determinations with value of RSD of 0.4%) was found to be in conformity with the value (79.3%) found by the method of pharmacopoeia.
