    MS Rapid Detection of RDX on the Surfaces of Various Materials with Desorption Electrospray Ionization

    • Desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (DESI-MS) was applied to the rapid detection of trace amounts of RDX on surfaces of various material,including rock,paper,cloth,leather,Teflon,rubber etc.,without sample preparation and pretreatment.Under the optimized operation parameters,the quasi-molecular ion peak of RDX at m/z 223 was obtained with a mixture of methanol and acetic acid (98+2) as the electrospray solvent,and the characteristic peak of the fragment of RDX at m/z 177 was confirmed by MS/MS analysis.Detection limits (3σ) of RDX on the surfaces of various materials were less than 17.0 pg·cm-2.
