Abstract
Effect of different modes of sample introduction, including the conventional separate-streaming or non-separate-streaming sample introduction and the head-column sample introduction,on the chromatographic behavior of carbofuran in the GC determination was studied by the method of response surface experimental designing.By studying with the mathematical model established, relative significance of the influential factors,i.e.temperature at the sample inlet, initial column temperature and flow-rate of carrier gas,as related to the thermodecomposition of carbofuran was evaluated. As judged by area normalization, the effects of sample inlet temperature and initial column temperature were evaluated quantitatively, and it was concluded that these 2 factors were the main cause for the thermodecomposition of carbofuran, which was proved to be unavoidable in the conventional mode of sample introduction, even under the optimized working conditions.
