ICP-AES Determination of Trace Amounts of Beryllium and Cadmium in Non-Noble Metallic Dental Materials

    • A method of ICP-AES for the determination of trace amounts of beryllium and cadmium in non-noble metallic dental materials,i.e. nickel-chromium alloys,cobalt-chromium alloys and titanium alloys was proposed. The sample was dissolved in HCl-HNO3-HF. The matrix matching method was used to eliminate the matrix interference. Linear relationship between values of emission intensity and mass concentration of beryllium and cadmium was kept in the range within 1.0 mg·L-1 with detection limit (3s) in the range of 0.000 6-0.014 mg·L-1. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of samples of non-noble metallic dental materials, giving values of recovery in the range of 97.0%-106%.
