Abstract
Based on the derivation reaction between sodium alendronate and 4-chloro-7-nitrobenzofurazan (NBF-Cl) to give a yellow fluorescent product in a medium of pH 8.5 and on the fluorescence property of the derivate as shown by its fluorescence spectrum at the wavelengths of 457 nm (λex) and 532 nm (λem), a fluorophotometric method for determination of sodium alendronate was proposed. Linear relationship was found between values of fluorescence intensity and mass concentration of sodium alendronate in the range of 0.02-1.0 mg·L-1. The proposed method was used in the analysis of samples of sodium alendronate tablets, giving values of recovery ranged from 97.1%-113%, and RSD′s (n=6) ranged from 0.06%-0.14%.
