Simultaneous IC Determination of 5 Anions in Cigarette Paper with Ultrasonic Extraction

Contents of 5 anions including Cl-、 NO-2、 NO-3、 SO2- 4 and citrate,in cigarette papers were simultaneously determined by ion chromatography (IC).The sample of cigarette paper was extracted ultrasonically with 2 mmol·L-1 NaOH solution,and the 5 anions in the extract were separated on IonPac AS11-HC column,with IonPac AG11-HC as guard column and ASRS-ULTRAⅡas regenerative depressor,by gradient elution with KOH solution as mobile phase and detected by conductivity detector.The values of recovery of 5 anions obtained by standard addition method were in the range of 91%-105%，and RSD′s (n=5) found were less than 5.0%.The proposed method was used in the determination of the 5 anions in 9 kinds of cigarette papers,and the correlations among smoldering rate,gramweight and content of citrate were also discussed.Significant negative correlation was found between smoldering rate and gramweight,and significant positive correlation was found between smoldering rate and content of citrate.
