Preparation of Fluorescent Probe with Aggregation Induced Emission Properities
and Its Application on Detection of Methamphetamine in Sewage

Abstract: The tetraphenylethylene derivative(TPE-2COOH) with aggregation induced emission (AIE) properties was
designed and synthesized, which was combined with γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CD) to prepare fluorescent probe TPE-2COOH@γ-CD
with AIE properties. The fluorescent probe was characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, Fourier transform
infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and its optical properties were investigated by molecular
fluorescence spectroscopy. As shown by the results, TPE-2COOH@γ-CD hardly emitted fluorescence in tetrahydrofuran, and
had typical AIE properties in tetrahydrofuran-water system. Methamphetamine (METH) was added into the TPE-2COOH@γ-CD
aqueous solution, and both were mixed evenly by ultrasound. The fluorescence spectrum at the excitation wavelength of 314 nm
was measured. METH could cause the fluorescence quenching of TPE-2COOH@γ-CD, which could be used for the detection
of METH. Linear relationship between fluorescence quenching values (472 nm) of fluorescent probe and mass concentrations of
METH was kept in the range of 0. 10-0. 26 g · L −1 , with detection limit (3s/k) of 0. 003 5 g · L −1 . This method was used for the
enrichment and detection of METH in municipal sewage. The recoveries of METH were in the range of 106%-127% and RSDs
(n=10) of the determined values of METH ranged from 7. 2% to 18%.
